Formerly known as CNG tower when it was first built during Pittsburgh's second renaissance under Mayor Richard S. Caliguiri. Caliguiri renewed the public-private partnership which allowed for private funding of development through the public authority. While he was mayor from 1977 to 1988 Pittsburgh experienced some of it's best corporate growth in its history. In an open area next Dominion Tower known as Dominino Plaza concerts are held during the summer. In this plaza are life-size statues of people. |
