Grant under the Command of General John Forbes in 1758 was given permission by his commanding officer Colonel Henry Bouquet to do a pre-emptive attack on the Indian encampments outside of Fort Duquense. When he attacked however the Indians overwhelm himself and he suffered a great defeat. Days later John Forbes takes Fort Duquesne without a fight and names the area Pittsburgh. The aircraft warning beacon on the top of the building blinks P-I-T-T-S-B-U-R-G-H in Morse code. Radio station KDKA used to be located on the third floor.
